Saturday, October 23, 3pm (outdoors)
Hyde Park Free Library, Hyde Park, NY
The program will feature music by a variety of composers from the eighteenth century to the present day, including a set of three character pieces by Carl Philipp Emanuel Bach (1714-1788), son of Johann Sebastian Bach. The music of this delightfully quirky composer represents an intriguing transition between the Baroque and Classical styles. The program will also include works by the great South American guitarist, Agustín Barrios (1885-1944), the prolific Austro-Hungarian guitarist, Johann Kaspar Mertz (1806-1856), and eclectic American composers Lou Harrison (1917-2003) and Alan Hohvaness (1911-2000), both of whom incorporated influences from Eastern Traditional Music. Eric will also perform some of his own compositions.
